- Twinsmom - 44 Years After the Moon LandingSurely the world's greatest minds and scientists (men of course) have been working on this for decades and - at last!! An instrument of freedom. I can't wait for some strong man to order it for me, so when it arrives I can spend my days drawing unicorns and ponies and swirls and practicing my signature "Mrs. George Clooney" - too dreamy!!
- drewski - no problemsI was terrified by the reviews. I have texture issues and gag easily, and thought the night time dose would be unbearable. I used about 6 ounces of water, stirred it for about 5 seconds and drank it IMMEDIATELY; do not wait. I then followed it with another 10 ounces of water and a couple sips of juice. There is a slight aftertaste, but nothing even close to a vomit taste. Kind of like a grainy fiber mix. Personally, i thought the morning rinse was more difficult. That's got a strange taste and you have to swish it around your mouth for 45 seconds. The pills are benign. So far so good.
- Matthew - Greatest Horror Novel Ever WrittenI read The Road when my son was born and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. I argued with this novel, I fought tooth and nail with this novel, I threatened this novel that if it did the unthinkable, then I would destroy it! Rarely have I been so engaged in a story. There were times when I had to put it down and storm off, too scared to pick it up again for fear of what might happen to these two, precious characters.
So many readers approach the story from the idea of the perfect child, whose innocence is the only thing the man has. But I approached the book from the point of view of the man: what would I do in his position? I felt the fear that inhabited his bones, the constant, nerve-wracking terror and self-doubt with which he struggled. The horrors out there from which he tries to shield his son.
God, this was a beautiful novel and I am grateful to McCarthy for letting me share in his personal fears for his own son in a larger world whose inhabitants are always capable of horrendous barbarism.
I refuse to watch the film. If you've come this far in my review you would understand why.
