    As a young female lawyer this book struck many a chord. I went in tentatively after hearing much press for and against this book. I found it wonderful and inspirational, rarely pedantic or belittling. Sheryl explicitly and repeatedly states that her opinions are not for everyone, that she's not telling stay-at-home-moms that they're doing something wrong. She rightly and convincingly presents an argument for women to lean in to careers with full strength until a need actually comes up to pull back (if it does). The book made me look back and wince at my young twentysomething self who spent interviews asking what us women were told to ask in interviews - what's the work life balance like here? how do you manage kids and law firm life? I'm sure no one ever told the men in our classes to ask those questions (and I'm sure virtualy none of them did). I watched time and time again as my colleagues turned down opportunities now because they thought it might impeded their ability to raise a family at some point a decade down the road. Sherly helps illuminate the lost decade (and beyond!) that you trade when you make decisions like that. I think it should be mandatory reading for people of both genders in law and business school (and beyond).
